BitterSweet Cabaret

Russian born, Israeli raised, now US based, composer Matti Kovler’s music has been commissioned by the Carnegie Hall, the Kennedy Center and Tanglewood. His works have been performed by the Israel Philharmonic, the American Composers Orchestra, Fox Studios Symphony and others.

This evening showcases Kovler’s songs, blending pop and classical styles with jazz inspiration, and excerpts from his works for the stage: the song-cycle Children’s Songs, the musical  Ami and Tami, and the oratorio The Escape of Jonah. Featuring American Idol’s Brett Loewenstern, Boston based Israeli singer Tutti Druyan and Kovler’s student, the sixteen-year-old singer/composer Matthew Shifrin. They will be joined by the versatile Jazz bassist Ehud Ettun and a vocal ensemble.

One performance only, exlusively for the Boston Jewish Music Festival.
